  2. Projects, timelines and earlier life

    • Qualifications and further study

Senior Certificate and outcomes-based assessor certificate scans join the agroecology and permaculture qualifications. The biodynamic preparation-making workshop is now included in further study and the timeline.

    • Inside the Ubhejane garden

A short field clip from 26 June 2022 shows young trees, grasses, flowering plants and groundcover at Ubhejane Crèche.

    • The complete visual timeline

The original coloured year chart shows all categories together on desktop and mobile. The Timeline menu links to each part of the chart, with project pages and the Green Guy and ashram photographs linked from relevant entries.

    • Every project has a page

Open any project for a description and project imagery. Dedicated Case studies and Timeline menu pickers make the detailed records and career history easier to explore, and matching short clips now play in the project collection.

    • Earlier life: the ashram and temple garden

Photographs from a 2012 return visit accompany the account of monastic training at the Divine Life Society. A separate entry shows vegetable gardening at the Hare Krishna Centre in Port Elizabeth.

    • The Green Guy seeds and nursery

Archive photographs show the organic seed range, nursery and market seedlings, alongside the story of supplying retail stores and selling plants directly to the public.

    • Interviews and community engagement

Field evidence now includes beneficiary interviews, participant surveys, baseline assessments and community meetings, with examples from Mandlakazi, ACT and ASAP.

    • Manyoni garden photograph

The project archive now shows vegetables growing in the Manyoni shade tunnel.

  3. A more visual portfolio

    • Factual film and photograph descriptions

Film summaries and photograph captions now describe the subjects, activities, places and dates. Project pages focus on the work and available records, with shorter descriptions and simpler source labels.

    • Better photographs, better proportions

Mandlakazi now tells the story through harvests, household visits and a working nursery. Balanced photograph grids, shorter project openings and tighter film and training sections remove oversized gaps across the portfolio. Full photographs remain available to open.

    • Ways to connect

LinkedIn and Imbewu Yoshintso are now linked from every page footer, making it easier to follow the wider work and get in touch.

    • Partners and collaborators

A new page brings together project partners, their logos and the work behind each collaboration, including ZCT, ACT, Roots Up, Imbewu Yoshintso and the Foundation for Human Rights.

    • Mzomoyethu Crèche Garden, explained

The extended 10-minute film covers rainwater harvesting, living groundcover, mulching, permanent beds and paths, seedling care and a shade tree fed by handwashing water. It includes site comparisons and the swale after a recorded 45 mm storm.

    • Updated Ubhejane site comparisons

Updated aerial comparisons show Ubhejane Crèche in July 2019 and June 2022, alongside the site design and later garden layout.

    • The practical work, at a glance

Ten project pages now pair short action headings with illustrations of the work, from water and planting to training and delivery. More compact layouts make the contribution sections easier to scan on desktop and mobile.

    • Closer to the work

More compact introductions, illustrated summaries and clearer groupings across the site. Project records open with an archive image, and the brief, responsibilities and takeaway sit in shorter sections.

    • Training and resources at a glance

Illustrated course comparisons, expandable course outlines, visual seed-saving steps and document-cover previews bring practical learning and reading material into view sooner.

    • Drawings, films and analysis

Design and film pages now lead with previews from the archive. ImbewuField and the crèche nutrition analysis use compact visual summaries to guide readers through the detail.

  4. A correction to the Morobong record

    • One drone, not two cameras

Corrected the Morobong camera attribution: the aerial photographs were all taken with the same drone. The dated comparisons document site structures and garden development.

  5. Training, field records and a growing resource library

    • A dedicated Training section

Visible course outlines for one-day and five-day training, Agroecological Farming Practices and seed-saving workshops, plus teaching films and language support.

    • Seed saving and Brackenhill photography

A separate page for seed sovereignty, practical workshops, the ACT seed manual sample and the Brackenhill photography commission.

    • Proposals, reports and qualifications

Fruitful Futures and other proposals, the RVCC closeout report and policy brief, and certificate previews. Named Kent Tahir Cooper and Alex Kruger on the Berg en Dal PDC record. The permaculture and seed manuals are available as samples only.

    • Lesotho before and after

Added before-and-after photographs of pig shelters and chicken housing, earthworks holding rainfall, the growing garden and a trimmed no-till demonstration.

    • Manyoni and Tatsfield

Expanded the Manyoni nursery and market-garden record. Improved Tatsfield’s layout and added the selected production footage and training film.

    • Films, navigation and presentation

Placed selected YouTube films first, removed the two unwanted Inanda films, improved text alignment and contrast, and added this dated update log to the menu.

    • Career history corrected

Recorded The Green Guy becoming Bhanu Consulting, added The Vegan Co and its products, and removed the Tropical Nursery and Mother Nature entries.

    • What’s new, tucked into the menu

Moved the dated update log out of the main toolbar. Find What’s new at the bottom of the menu, or under the small More options button on desktop.

  6. A closer look at ImbewuField

    • An illustrated resource guide

Brought the app’s design tools, farm information, learning and organisation features onto the Resources page, with product views and supporting documents.

  7. More of the work, in context
